AL-59 Conductors (AL-59)
High-performance aluminium alloy overhead conductor designed for medium, high, and extra-high voltage power transmission and distribution systems.

What are AL-59 Conductors?
AL-59 conductors are homogeneous aluminium alloy conductors manufactured from Aluminium-Magnesium-Silicon (Al-Mg-Si) alloy, offering an excellent combination of high electrical conductivity, superior mechanical strength, low sag, and enhanced corrosion resistance for modern overhead transmission applications.
AL-59 conductors are manufactured using specially engineered aluminium alloy wires with conductivity of approximately 59% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), enabling higher current carrying capacity and lower transmission losses compared to conventional conductors. Manufactured in accordance with IS 398 (Part 6) and other applicable international standards, these conductors are widely used in overhead transmission and distribution networks where improved efficiency, long-span capability, and higher power evacuation are required.
At Mahavir Transmission Limited, AL-59 conductors are manufactured under stringent quality control systems using advanced alloy rod processing, precision wire drawing, and high-accuracy stranding technologies. This ensures consistent conductor quality, precise dimensional characteristics, and dependable long-term operational performance under demanding environmental and electrical conditions.
With their superior strength-to-weight ratio, lower DC resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance, AL-59 conductors are ideally suited for modern transmission infrastructure, network upgradation projects, coastal regions, industrial environments, and high-capacity power corridors.
